I ordered a jar of this new Nutjar product on July 22nd, and I expected it to be smooth but firmer than the regular macadamia butter (which is quite runny) since it has organic coconut sugar added to it, among other ingredients. I received it on August 1st and upon inspecting the jar, the content already seemed much firmer, as expected.
It is delicious, and I have been consuming it since then.
However, last night (Aug. 4th), after consuming about a third of the jar, I saw a brown spot in the middle of the spread. Once I tried to take some of the spread out with a knife, this particular spot would not bulge, it was rock solid. Then, I shoved the knife in and tried to move the content. To my shock, I found out that more than half of what was left in the jar was pure coconut sugar and it was stuck to the glass, which is why it would not move.
This is ridiculous! A third or more of the whole jar was pure coconut sugar, and that is not what I paid for. Coconut sugar is not cheap, but it certainly is much cheaper than macadamia nuts.
I loved the taste, but will not buy again as I felt scammed.
Edit: In the picture you'll see the brown, solid lumps with grainy texture that took 1/3 of the jar.
